Chapter 88 Olman and Wan
Chapter 88 Olman and Wan
88 Olman and Wan
Lyle was now placed at an impasse.
He couldn't kill the bastard.
If he did that, then he would need to kill not only him, but everyone that had any knowledge of him trying to poison Lyle, and even then, he wouldn't be safe.
The father knew his son hated Lyle, and he didn't really care for it since he held no love for Lyle himself. He had never tried to do anything to Lyle, but he never showed any kind of politeness when meeting Lyle, nor did he try to hide the displeasure he felt from Lyle and the fact that the two of them were ranked the same.
As an older Night Blade, the connections and influence of the man had been vast and Lyle couldn't be compared to him. His strength was also something way above Lyle's own, even before he evolved.
If Lyle was to kill his son, and he found out, then even if he knew that a Shadow was backing Lyle, he would still kill him, that much was certain.
But Lyle also couldn't let things stay the same.
Since the bastard son had already tried to kill him once, then there was no way he wouldn't try again.
Some of the corpses he had found on his property were probably men that he had sent in order to see what kind of defenses Lyle had set up and whether or not he could get some information if they were successful at going around the defenses.
With all of that in mind, Lyle started thinking of a plan as he made his way back to his house.
About an hour later, at another location in the city, inside a mansion.
BAM!
A man slammed his fist down on a table as he stared at the figure in front of him with anger.

"He simply left the brothel, and that bitch is alive as well?!"
"Y-yes sir, that's correct."
"Did you check the wine?"
"Yes, it has been opened, and two glasses were poured, both of which were empty when our men entered the room after he was gone."
"Preferably right now." The man answered as Olman nodded at him before going to his room that was adjacent to the man's.
"Wan, we will have our revenge, right?" Olman asked Wan as the latter nodded at him before they entered their respective rooms.
The two took their things and started packing, aware that they will probably never come back here again. Years of hard work and kissing the ass of Morn who already had a grudge against Lyle simply because the latter was more talented than him.
Olman saw a chance and started working. He made sure to always remind Morn of how talented he was and that Lyle was only lucky and had managed to come across a multitude of fruitful and lucky encounters to get to where he was right now.
Olman was always a charismatic person, and he used all the charisma he had in order to make Morn like him and he was soon working as his right-hand man, often doing the dirty work of the young man and getting rid of any that annoyed him.
Olman spent years slowly fueling the fire and making Morn turn his dislike of Lyle to complete and utter hatred. Morn had started despising Lyle and believed that he had taken everything he deserved.
Even his own father, who didn't like Lyle at all, would never say a bad thing when it came to Lyle's professionalism and talent. He would sometimes even compare the two and never did he give Morn any kind of compliment and would often criticize him.
Sometimes it was because of his manners and character, and sometimes his talent, or the lack of it. Other times it was because Morn had poorly done a mission or because he was caught with a prostitute in his mansion and his father had to work behind the scenes in order for others not to learn of those things.
Morn, however, started despising his own father as well. The constant criticism and reminder that he was below Lyle at everything made him hate both men. Olman never dared fuel those flames as he knew that Morn's father was something completely different compared to his son and that working against him would only bring him an early death.
He tried his best to placate Morn and to make him understand his father and ease the tension, which is probably the only reason the father let him continue working for Morn as he could see that the man was trying his best in order to improve their relationship.
Had he been aware that Olman was making Morn hate Lyle more and more and that he had a personal vendetta against Lyle, he would have probably killed him as soon as possible in order to not fuel those flames any longer.
Wan was a person that didn't speak that much and thus, Morn had no idea what he even looked like.
He had an ability that allowed him to transform his face into any person, and he used it to its fullest and mostly worked as a spy for the young man, or to better be said, for Olman who was the only person that knew his identity amongst all the servants that Morn had.
Together, they slowly built up a small force under Morn that was somewhat loyal to them. There were no Bronze Knights amongst any of them, only Morn possessed such power.
With their lackeys, they slowly took over some areas of the city, none being important of course. They improved their strength and slowly started making money thanks to some small shops that were paying them protection.
All of that would end today, however.
As Wan had just learned, getting on Lyle's bad side was never a good thing.
The man stood frozen in his room as a dagger was placed on his throat.
