Chapter 597 596: Phantom Plague Axe Intent

Chapter 597 596: Phantom Plague Axe Intent

'Why do I use axes and not other weapons?'

'And why did I choose axe intent instead of sword intent, spear intent, or any other intent?'

Corey had never for once asked himself these questions because he never saw the need. However, the moment these questions appeared in his mind, he already knew the answer to them.

'I chose to use axes instead of other weapons because of my hate for the Temple of Flames... The axes are reminders about my hate for the Temple of Flames and my goal of revenge.'

'As for why I chose the axe intent, it's because Nina nonchalantly recommended it to me. But if I think about it now, it seems slightly strange.'

A deep frown emerged on Corey's face as he had this thought, but knowing that it was inconsequential in his goal of attaining a unique axe intent.

He exhaled deeply.

'I use the axes as a reminder of my hate and my goal of revenge. I use axes because that's the symbol of the Temple of Flames. I use axes because I want to use the symbol of the Temple of Flames to kill the Pope and those that kidnapped my sister and killed my parents.'

'My axe is for revenge.'

A surge of killing intent radiated from Corey's body as his axe intent seemed to solidify to a certain degree and thrum with a subtle vibration of the air.

'Whenever I attack with axes, how do I attack?'

'Typically, an axe is known to be used by brutes, barbarians, vikings, and those who are not so skillful with the sword. They are mainly used by berserkers to cleave through enemies with ease and an intense ferocity.'

'But I don't use an axe like how most people use it. I am more skillful, more precise, my moves are calculated, my strikes are fast and heavy, and I like to make it undetectable most times.'

The moment Corey had this thought, a bang resounded in his mind as countless thoughts and simulations flooded his main consciousness. His eyes snapped open, and his pure white eyes glowed with a blinding intensity.

He looked at his Axe Intent covering his body, aand although his Axe Intent was intangible and was like a wavy translucent colorless light around his body, Corey knew that if a leaf was to fall on him or a normal stone was thrown at him, the stone and the leaf would be split into pieces and turn to dust.

Without wasting a single second, Corey's placed his hands on his laps and his hands glowed with a black light that radiated an intense aura of poison, decay, and corruption.

The black light and Corey's axe intent came together, but they never fused.

Corey's goal was to incorporate the most potent poison of his Poison Infinity Crystal into his Intent, and it was more difficult than he expected, but he never gave up.

His pure white unblinking eyes glowed with a more blinding intensity and the thrumming of his Axe was getting louder and louder as the minutes went by.

An unknown amount of time later, his Axe Intemt was no longer colorless but black. Corey looked at it, but he did not have a satisfied expression on his face but a frown.

'The most dangerous type of poisons are those that cannot be sensed or at least... easily sensed. Everybody would know that my intent has a poisonous nature to it and they'll be too cautious about it.'

Corey closed his eyes for some minutes, and then he opened them. When he did, his pupils moved so fast that it almost resembled a blur as he gazed at his Axe Intent.

Minutes went by, and the black light of his Intent began to receded at a visible pace. Approximately twenty five minutes later, his Intent became colorless once again.

'It's done.'

The moment Corey had this thought, a loud THRUM resounded across the Stairs of Ascension from his newly formed axe intent.

"I no longer have a normal axe intent but a Phantom Plague Axe Intent."
