Chapter 456 455: Contemplation
456 455: contemplation
after successfully killing finley, corey's gaze remained focused and sharp as he used his paragon senses to observe finley's sinful aura.
unlike what a part of him somewhat expected, nothing special happened to finley's sinful aura. he felt the sinful aura move toward his right arm and hand, and a few seconds later, his right arm became slightly itchy.
he ignored the itch and looked at his right palm. strange dark crimson lines appeared and then joined together to form symbols that only corey, those with the bloodline of sin, and those knowledgeable about sinners and blessed could read.
124.69
corey's eyes glinted when he saw this.
'an increase of 34.68.'
corey's luck stat on his status screen was 100.01. however, what his status screen showed was his overall amount of luck, not his individual karmic luck.
when he and divine infiltrated the treasure vault of the underworld emporium, he took a necklace with a cross as the pendant. this necklace was a blessed item, and it increased his luck by 10.
his individual karmic luck after he entered the dimension of the old ones was 90.01, and now, it was 124.69.
'that means my overall luck stat is 134.70.'
corey clenched his right hand, and then he glanced at finley's corpse.
'should i say... i expected more?'
although corey already knew that finley's sinful aura was by no means large, he wanted more. he knew that he was greedy, but whenever he recalled just how much karmic luck was needed to influence where he would arrive in the shattered dimension, he knew that an increase of 34.68 was not enough at all.
'if i want to increase my karmic luck, i know of three ways. i can choose to look for blessed items, but this cannot work because there's a limit to how much blessed items can increase my karmic luck.'
'another option is for me to find more sinners, kill them, and obtain their sinful aura. but i cannot depend on this method for a monumental increase. how many sinners have i encountered ever since i became a paragon?'
'although i'm in the underworld where a lot of heinous acts and atrocities happen as frequently as the sun comes up, i have not encountered another sinner... or maybe i have, but i failed to notice it?'
corey furrowed his brows slightly,
just as corey had this thought, the dreadkeeper spoke.
"we need to talk."
corey raised his brows, "about?"
the dreadkeeper glanced at corey's face before shifting his gaze toward his genesis armament, and with a glint in his eyes, he pointed at the massive axe.
"that."
corey could not help but chuckle when he heard the dreadkeeper's words.
"i guess you don't plan on beating around the bush."
a light smile appeared on corey's lips, and then he rested on his massive axe.
"alright, so what about my axe? what do you want to say about it?"
the dreadkeeper remained silent, and then he stared at corey for a few seconds before speaking.
"i want to buy it."
the instant the dreadkeeper said these words, a chuckle resounded around them and they both turned toward the source of the chuckle.
"is that so?"
with a light smile, pamela jumped off the dead tree she sat on and approached the dreadkeeper and corey.
with the same smile on her lips, she stood in front of the dreadkeeper, shortening the distance between her and the dreadkeeper to barely more than an inch.
she looked up and gazed into the dreadkeeper's eyes, and her smile widened slightly.
"you must be a fool right?"
