as finley stared at corey's figure, he found it difficult to believe his eyes. he rubbed his eyes, but after doing this, he still found himself staring at corey's unmistakeable figure.

'how did he get here?'

'is this an illusion?'

finley shifted his gaze from corey to his surroundings. he tried to sense and find any sign of inconsistency in the environment so that he could find the source of the illusion.

however,

"what are you doing?"

corey's voice reverberated in the surroundings and in finley's ears. he turned towards corey and with his eyes as wide as saucers, he could not help but ask once again.

"how?"

corey raised his brows, but just as he was about to speak, he looked to his left. finley noticed corey's gaze, and he looked to his right. however, he saw and sensed nothing.

he furrowed his brows slightly, and then he shifted his gaze back to corey. just as he was about to speak, a soft and charming female voice rang out.

"your senses are really extraordinary. you knew where i was going to arrive before i even arrived there."

'huh?'

finley turned to his right, towards the source of the voice, however, he saw no one. although a second later, he sensed a presence and he looked at the top of a tree.

a slightly stunned expression appeared on his face when he saw pamela's figure sitting on the branch of a dead tree.

'she can also teleport?' finley thought with a slight change in his expression. 'if she can also teleport then that means that she cannot be underestimated. i'll have to be careful around her.'

just as finley had this thought, his senses picked up on a new presence, and he looked behind him.

the sounds of fallen tree branches snapping and the subtle sound of footsteps resounded across the quiet surroundings, and some seconds later, finley saw the familiar figure of selene approaching them from a cluster of dead trees with a pissed off expression.

when he saw selene's approaching figure, finley's expression changed to one of disbelief, a tinge of fear, and also anger.

'so that's why.' finley gritted his teeth with a frustrated expression.

he turned toward corey with a snap and shouted,

"you fucking coward! do you plan on hiding behind two women? is that what gave you the confidence to fight me? fight me alone if you dare!"

he glanced at corey, and when he saw corey's frown, a smile appeared on his face.

'luckily i didn't care about morals, and i chose to kill the boy and take his treasure. i'd have died if not because of my decision back then.'

just as finley had this thought, he was about to unleash a counter attack, but he paused when he noticed a change in corey's eyes.

'pure white eyes?' finley was baffled.

what finley did not know was that the sudden appearance of the massive bone hand had fueled corey's decision to kill him without wasting time.

at first, he was slightly curious about finley's skills since he suspected him to be from the bone clan. also, finley was the first sinner he was going to kill, and a part of him wanted his first fight with another sinner to be something memorable.

however, the sudden appearance of the massive bone hand instantly repelled such thoughts.

apart from the lightning movement art, he had not used any other skill. he decided to test out his new strength by using all his strength to swing his axe at finley, fully intending to cut him in half.
