Chapter 427 I Don't Want To Die
Wilfred appeared behind the man talking about his king living forever and shut him up with the knife that entered from the back of his head and appeared in his mouth.
His eyes were filled with terror as the blade entered his head but everything happened so fast that he died almost instantaneously.
James had already gunned down the others he was with.
"So noisy, so talkative." Wilfred let out huff and said, he took out the napkin and cleaned his face once again.
The knife would be dirty again, so he didn't bother to do that again.
"While I understand your educational instincts Mister, this isn't the place for that. Unless someone surrenders, it is useless to try and change them." Wilfred put emphasis on every single word.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
He was fatigued at this point and very annoyed that these two were doing nothing but trying to talk to the enemy, while James and himself were running around the wall, killing every guard at the top. They actually succeeded doing a full circle around.
James was on the verge of collapsing to the ground but Wilfred assured him if he did, getting up will be impossible and he will absolutely lose his life then.
His rebuttal was "but aren't we supposed to have each other's backs?"
To which Wilfred replied with, "I'll have your back but I'm not here as your bodyguard."
That's when James understood that if he let his legs win, he would be burdening his partner and that would ultimately lead to his death, he didn't come here to die so despite his legs complaining and shaking, he trudged on.
He could've sworn James was right beside him and he wasn't wrong, he had been for the entire conversation it was only toward the end of it that James strained his neck to look back and his eyes met with a guard.
The guard had a weapon already drawn, in fact his finger was already in the trigger his aim was to the butler. James didn't know either that he could move that fast, his voice failed him but his legs didn't.
As tired as they, as crampy and complaining as his muscles were they managed to carry him between Wilfred and the bullet.
James never in his wildest dreams thought he would one day jump in front of a gun to save someone he'd met just a day ago. Someone he'd only started speaking to since they were teamed up together.
If he was honest at all with himself, James never imagined his life would make such a turn. He was content cooking for students but when the bell for help rang, the young man answered and now he had a hole in his stomach.
His entire body felt numb, he wasn't sure anymore whether he was standing or falling. Existing didn't seem to matter in his mind anymore, instead his mind went on to questions that were a bit ridiculous for someone who had been shot.
'I wonder what taste you get when you mix...' He looked down at his stomach as the useless thoughts ran through his mind.
The hole was not visible at all with the layers of clothes he wore, he moved his arm to touch where it hurt and his finger was met with a crimson liquid.
"James!" Wilfred cried and took a single stride toward him catching him before his body fell on the ground on its own.
Not a lot of things made Wilfred panicked but seeing him like that the feeling just took his body over.
"I don't want to die Mister Wilfred, I still have, I still have so much to cook." His voice was hoarse and in a whisper.
