Chapter 408 Meeting In The Sand

Kiro continued to scratched him to calm him down, he couldn't stay mad for long, what Kiro was doing could've put him right to sleep.

"None of what you're saying, we are going from world to world. Fighting harbingers and recruiting people to fight against them." He told her honestly.

"Harbingers?" She questioned.

They didn't have a lot of time to tell her the whole story so he summarised most of everything. Just a few glimpses and parts he thought were important.

"Of course we won't force anyone to join us in this fight, though if you refuse that's on you. There's no guarantee that another harbinger won't come attacking your people again."

She nodded in understanding, her head moved from left to right. Most of everything about their world was destroyed by that thing, their sand houses had been levelled flat, to the point where it didn't seem like there were once houses in the area.

"Are you the leader here?" Kiro asked.

She shook her head, "the King died protecting our homes from that thing. We've lost so much..." That last part wasn't directed to anyone, she was just saying what her eyes saw.

"Then get your people together and make a decision. Whatever you decide, we leave here today."

He wasn't being rude, time was of the essence, they needed as many worlds as possible connected to Asgard, that way they would deny harbingers entry to said worlds. Thereby forcing them to enter through Asgard, a game that didn't allow them to truly die.

It was a great plan.

"Can you see me now Kronos? I hope I'm making you proud, wherever you are." He mumbled to himself.

The time god sacrificed himself for them, that's what Kiro liked to think anyway. Maybe he was just doing his job protecting a universe for his god but one could say his job included protecting the people living within it.

"There's no guarantee that these harbinger things won't come back here, are you people so cowardly that you'd rather be sitting ducks for them?" Another spat, revving with anger of how weak they were against the thing even with their numbers.

"I agree with you mister Guk, we can't make it easy for the enemy. I want to be stronger too, I want to fight." It was a youth that said.

Their king was a pretty docile man who despised violence above all else. His ideologies were the reason this species didn't have a fighting chance when an extraterrestrial enemy attacked.

The rules were different now, they needed to strip themselves off the old rules and welcome new ones, ones that allowed them to grow stronger and fight against the threat that almost destroyed their home world.

"You people want to go and fight, then leave us here to rebuild. Have fun!"

The ones who didn't want to fight didn't have much of an argument other than wanting to stay true to their king and allow his memory to live on as he died protecting all of them.

"What do you say Yule?" Guk looked at the witch whom had little training but was able to create that sandstorm, she had natural talent.

"I say we fight. I'm not a leader, I don't want to be. But we are here now because of our King, if he allowed those who wanted to train, maybe the results today would be different, maybe we wouldn't have needed these saviours." Yule finished her opinion.

Those who wanted to fight cheered and clapped for her speech, it resonated with them from every inch of their bodies. Those who wanted to stay behind were silenced by her words.

"Alright, you say we fight, we fight but do they have our terrain over there? We can't survive without it."

"I don't care if we take shovels and buckets of sands to the other side, we need to fight for our home if we hope to have it here for future generations." Guk said with a stronger resolve than ever.

Kiro and Hubris gave them exactly an hour to talk amongst themselves before they showed up to their meeting.

"Well?"

"We want to fight but some want to remain." Yule said with sadness in her voice she thought once they left they could never return.

Kiro laughed nervously, "oh didn't I mention it? My mount here can create a bridge between worlds so you'll be able to come home whenever you want."
