Chapter 473 – Little Girl
Chapter 473 – Little Girl
"A-Are we really going to go in there?" Princess Peach stuttered, sounding disgusted. Amelia looked uncomfortable as MadLad sighed.
Lily looked at Max, seemingly asking for his decision. He nodded with determination as he led the group through the narrow corridor. Everyone followed behind him while covering their nose to lessen the horrible smell around them.
"Woah, this is bad. The smell is unbearable." MadLad whined, his expression scrunched up. "Nah, why the fuck is this game has such a realistic smell?"
"Language!" Amelia chopped his helmet, causing him to scream.
"Ouch! What the fuck- Ouch! Stop, stop it! I know that was my fault. I won't say anything bad anymore."
"Good." Amelia nodded in satisfaction.
Max and Lily laughed at their exchange while Princess Peach rolled her eyes.
"This is why peasants are..." She muttered in a low voice, but it could still be heard by MadLad and made him stare at him.
Afraid, she scooted closer to Lily before sticking her tongue out.
They advanced quietly through the narrow corridor that could as well be called a sewer. The disgusting liquid scattered around was possibly from the strange thing coming out from the pipe or a part of a rat's corpse.
Max wasn't sure which was worse, but he was definitely leaning toward the second choice.
The sound of footsteps from something unknown was also audible, and his instinct told him to turn around immediately. But, he calmed his heart and kept walking forward with everyone else.
The two girls at the back were clinging to each other's arm while MadLad and Amelia stuck close together as a more brave members in the group, including Max.@@@@
At some point, Amelia spoke.
"Hey, can you hear footsteps behind us? Or is it just my imagination?"
MadLad widened his eyes before nodding rapidly. "Yes! Yes, I can hear that too. Am I imagining it? Or is it someone following us?" He asked as Amelia turned to Max and Lily for an answer.
Max, who heard Amelia's question, turned around as he shone his flashlight backward. When he did so, nothing appeared, but he felt goosebumps rise up his skin as something or someone was moving around the corner.
'Is it the footsteps from earlier? Or is it our imagination?' He wondered, looking at Lily beside him.
She didn't seem to have any reaction, indicating she didn't hear anything at all. Her focus was on walking forward, fearing that they would meet another monster.
"What do you think?" He whispered to Lily, hoping she had an idea of what it was.
The girl stared at him with confusion before understanding what he meant. She focused for a few seconds before shaking her head.
"Go... It's my turn to sacrifice myself." She said before turning around and shouted at the invisible creature. "Come here!"
"We won't forget your sacrifice! You're the best!" Max shouted as he ran past Amelia, allowing her to finally see the creature.
Just as she saw it, she screamed loudly.
"MadLad! Take my position! I don't want to be a sacrifice! Nooo!" She ran as fast as she could while shouting hysterically, just like Princess Peach earlier.
"I'll take it back." Max chuckled after seeing her reaction. "MadLad! We choose you! Use sacrifice!"
"Damn it, I have no choice." MadLad stopped on his track and turned around. "You better buy me lunch later!"
"I will!" Amelia answered him before running past him.
The group left MadLad behind and continued to run. A loud scream could be heard from behind, but they believed it was just their imagination and kept running forward.
Meanwhile, Max could finally see the end of the tunnel with a small space where they could rest. The floor was pristine, and there were metal bars to keep them away from the little girl monster.
He entered first and held the door,
"Go fast!" He shouted at everyone before shutting the door.
He didn't close the door completely before the last person entered. Amelia and Princess Peach breathed heavily as Lily tried to recover her breath after entering. He immediately closed the door.
At that moment, the floor became muddy as something on the other side pounded the door hard. He flinched in surprise but kept his focus on locking the door.
The room was small, so everyone had to stick to each other closely.
After a while...

"It's locked!" Max exclaimed before stepping back.
The small room they were in started going up. The little girl he saw earlier was banging on the metal bar desperately while glaring at them with an eye and a huge grin on her mask.
Raising his middle finger, Max smirked at the creature.
"Try to get us."
And then, the elevator room turned dark and everything went black.
