Chapter 337 - 336: Taking Care of a Sick Man
Neither Mama Dean nor Aunt Sienna ever mentioned anything about her parents in front of her.
She always thought she was a child abandoned by her parents, so Mama Dean and Aunt Sienna never talked about it to avoid making her sad.
So why was Aunt Sienna giving her this family photo now?
Bella Acker looked at Aunt Sienna, hoping she could help her understand.
Aunt Sienna also glanced at the photo Peach held in her heart and nodded, "Yes, this is your mom and dad. Are you wondering why we never told you about them before?"
Bella Acker nodded, "I always thought you didn’t say anything because you were worried I’d be sad thinking I was an abandoned child."
"We were indeed afraid you’d be sad, but not because you were abandoned," Aunt Sienna said. "Your parents died over twenty years ago. You were named Bella Acker because when you were left at the welfare center’s door, your mom left a note beside you. They loved you forever, so the dean named you Bella Acker."
So she was never an abandoned child; her parents had never deserted her. They just passed away and could no longer care for her.
Bella Acker’s eyes reddened, and tears gradually blurred her vision.
"Mom and Dad." Bella Acker gently brushed her fingers over the small photo, and tears poured from her eyes.
Just by looking at the photo, she could tell her parents had a beautiful relationship. She once had a happy family.
Aunt Sienna reached out, pulled her into a hug, softly patting her back in comfort, "If I wasn’t afraid I wouldn’t have the strength to take you to see your mom and dad in the future, I wouldn’t have given you this photo now. But they are your parents, and sooner or later, you have to meet them. So I wanted to give this to you for your twentieth birthday."
"Mm." Bella Acker nodded, wiped away the tears from her face, and said, "Aunt Sienna, thank you. This is the best twentieth birthday gift I could have received, and I’ll cherish it for life."
"Do you have to go back to work this afternoon?" Aunt Sienna asked as she wiped the tear marks from her face.
"Mm." Bella Acker felt a bit emotional; she cried so easily that she was a little embarrassed and wiped her eyes, saying, "I only have a two-day holiday, and I’m returning to the filming base this afternoon. Aunt Sienna, is there anything you want to tell me?"
"I’ll take you to visit your parents’ grave," Aunt Sienna said. "We can leave shortly; it shouldn’t delay your return to work."
"Okay." Bella Acker nodded, "I’ll go check if Damian’s fever has gone down. If it hasn’t, I’ll apply some ice packs, and then we can head to the cemetery."
"Go ahead, I’ll also give Ethan and the others a few instructions."
Bella Acker put the necklace around her neck, cleaned up the basin and washing machine in the courtyard, and took some ice to the attic to check on Damian Sinclair.
Damian Sinclair, likely due to the medicine, was sleeping soundly at the moment.
Bella Acker moved quietly to avoid disturbing him.
She reached out to feel his forehead; the heat seemed to have diminished, so it should be nothing serious.
Bella Acker gently removed the fever patch from his forehead and applied a new one, then wrapped the ice with a towel. She carefully pulled his hand out from the blanket to cool his dry, hot palm.
"Hmm?" Damian Sinclair was a light sleeper and, if not for the effects of the medicine, would have woken up when Bella Acker entered the room, not waited until now.
