The Song Clan ruled the entire North and was one of the Seven Great Clans of the Empire. Only another Great Clan could stand against them, but even they didn’t dare antagonize the Song Clan.

And it was for one simple reason. Unlike other regions, the North was actually united against outsiders. They might fight amongst themselves often, but if any factions outside the North tried to meddle in, then there would be nothing more united than Northmen.

And all of them saw the Song Clan as their hegemony and were completely loyal to them. Now, Ye Jun was also a part of it, so if the other clans tried something, they would be making the entire North their enemy, something no one wanted.

So their focus shifted to two things. Either they had to make a cordial relationship with him, or find ways to eliminate him early. They couldn’t let such a threat grow if it actually threatened them.

Despite all of this, one thing was common among them. They wanted to see this genius who actually ascended with a Purple Tribulation. They were curious and had already dispatched spies and also people toward the North.

As for the North itself, they were actually happy with the news, so happy that many of them actually celebrated his arrival like a festival and decided to celebrate it every year.

It was especially true for the powers already in relation to him, like the White Gale Pavilion. Han Zixuan was found laughing from ear to ear, so happy that he had actually invested in Ye Jun and treated him right.

Now, his Sect would be known widely as the place where Ye Jun studied and also the sacred place where he Ascended. Places like these, where legendary things happened, were auspicious and favored by the Heavens, just like how the Ancestral Site was blessed because of his Ancestor.

They would get disciples from far away, all of them desiring to ascend at the same place Ye Jun ascended. And above all of this, he was also genuinely happy for Ye Jun, though he was worried about its consequences.

The Lord was already after Ye Jun, and now things might worsen, but he wasn’t that worried now as the Song Clan would take matters into their hands. And not just them but also the Heavenly Frost Palace.

So, their Patriarch made a decision that would shame the whole Ye Clan, but it would protect them. He chose to leave Bright Star City and settle somewhere south where the Song Clan didn’t have their influence.

They chose to abandon their ancestral place, which was a grave sin and a disrespect to their Ancestors, but Ye Zhong cared more about their survival at the moment, so they relocated entirely.

While the world was witnessing major and minor changes all because of his Ascension, the same person was actually lying in a comfortable bed, enjoying the view his new abode offered.

Due to what he achieved, the Sect granted him the highest abode on the mountain, which was basically a residence in the clouds. It wouldn’t be wrong to call it an immortal’s residence.

’Ah! What a life!’ Ye Jun thought, throwing a grape in his mouth and tasting its delicious parts. Of course, it wasn’t normal either, as it was grown on the peaks where the Pavilion Master himself lived.

Even though he had successfully Ascended and his Physique had also regenerated, leaving no major wounds behind, not even small ones, he was still affected both physically and mentally.

Not to mention it took him a bit of time to get used to his new state.

Now, his Soul rested in the Spiritual Realm, so his consciousness was there instead of being in his brain. It felt very strange to control his body from there, as if his physical body was only a puppet meant to be controlled by the Soul.

Ye Jun still couldn’t believe what he had done. The Ninth Tribulation wasn’t on the list, but it came anyway. He wasn’t supposed to survive it either, but he did it anyway. All because of his system.

’Would I have survived without it?’

"But I actually succeeded," Ye Jun smiled, looking at his perfectly fine hand. "And I’ve gained so many things."

He was itching to open his status page and see all the changes, as he knew there would be many of them. Even without seeing, he could already feel them.

But he decided to wait.

’If I satisfy this itch, then I’ll get another itch to try out the new things I’ve gained... like that eye.. god, I already want to try using it.’

But he couldn’t, not in his current state. And there was something else too...

"Oh, you’re awake?"

Hearing the soft clicking of heels entering his room, Ye Jun turned around and found a beautiful black-haired woman walking towards him with her signature small smile. In her hands, she carried a bowl full of green liquid.

"I forgot to congratulate you," Ye Jun smiled at her. "Congratulations on ascending to the Origin Core Realm. And you’re what? Not even a year older than me."

"Thanks, but you did steal my limelight," Song Liangxue replied while setting the bowl aside. "I’ll be generous enough to forgive you for that, though. Am I not the best wife?"

"That reminds me, we are probably the best couple in this world. We achieved unprecedented feats on the same day," Ye Jun said, giving a side glance to the bowl.

"Certainly. The world will also see us like that. Perfect match made in Heaven," Song Liangxue smiled as well. "Now drink this herbal soup. It soothes mental trauma."

"Something like this exists?" Ye Jun was speechless, but still took it from her hands. "Also, are you already jealous of Meihui?"

"Oh my, what gave it away?" Song Liangxue asked in a flat tone.

"Hey, you can’t go back on your words now!"
